FIRST PRIZE DIAMONDS DOMINATES OKLAHOMA
HORSEMEN'S ASSOCIATION MYSTERY DERBY

First Prize Diamonds, under jockey James Flores, easily winning the $64,000 Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Derby Saturday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs.

CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 12, 2016—Fastest qualifier First Prize Diamonds rolled to a 2¼-length win over Bye Byefreighttrain in the $64,000 Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Derby Saturday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs. My Royal Wagon was another 1¼-lengths back to take third.

Ridden by James Flores the daughter of Carters Cartel covered the 350 yards in a quick :17.278 clocking to earn a 103-speed index. Gerry McLean saddled the bay filly for owner Gary Harstack.

Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley, First Prize Diamonds was second in the Speedhorse Derby two races back at Fair Meadows. Out of the Fly Jess Fly mare First Prize Diamond, the bay used the $26,100 winner's purse to boost her career total to $68,044.

Graded stakes winner Bye Byefreighttrain races for owner/breeder L.P. Frank and trainer Kasey Willis. Cesar Gomez rode the Freighttrain B gelding out of Bye Bye Bygones by Takin On The Cash. Winner of last year's Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Futurity, Bye Byefreighttrain earned $12,220 to bring his earnings total to nearly $214,000. He was also second in the Higheasterjet Handicap(G3) and the Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby(RG3) his season.

Brian Gunder's G1-placed My Royal Wagon earned $7,980 for third. Brian Muse conditions the Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt out of Lynettes Knockout by This Snow Is Royal. Ridden by Agustin Silva, the multiple stakes qualifier was third in the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs in 2015. He has earned $144,061.

Mamasito Magic, Ivory Teaspoon, Painted Garters, Diamonds For Codee, Scouts Pyc Special, Streakin Wagon and Senator Tamale completed the field.
